The 1776 button is a relic found in New York. The regiment was sent there from the West Indies in July 1776. The 50 is surmounted by a Georgian crown on a plain pewter button. It is for an enlisted man.

The 1820 button is a silver one for officers with the Royal Crest over the 50. The lion faces left and has no crown on his head.

The 1831 button is gilt and is also for officers. The regiment became a gold lace regiment at this time and adopted the title Queen's Own.
